CECILIA M. LePERE, ACAS, MAAA

Senior Vice President of Casualty Actuarial Consultants, Inc., Ms. LePere was awarded a Masters degree with a concentration in mathematics from Pennsylvania State University in 1979. Ms. LePere's undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree was earned at Bloomsburg State University in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania. Ms. LePere became an Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries in 1988.

Ms. LePere began her insurance career at Crum & Forster Insurance Corporation (C&F) in Morristown, New Jersey. During her seven and one-half years there, Ms. LePere's responsibilities included workers compensation loss and loss adjustment expense reserve analyses. Ms. LePere also analyzed the quarterly and annual financial results for C&F's USIG profit center and monitored the self-designed and implemented system to calculate workers compensation life pension reserves.

In February of 1986, Ms. LePere began her consulting career by joining the Research and Development (RAD) division of Willis Corroon's (formerly Corroon & Black's) Advanced Risk Management Services (ARMS). While working in RAD, she specialized in loss reserve determinations, hospital trust fund certifications, reinsurance program analyses, loss forecasts, and various consulting projects. In addition to being the actuarial coordinator for medical professional liability, Ms. LePere placed special emphasis on the analysis of workers compensation losses for Willis Corroon's health care clients.

Ms. LePere's paper titled "The Impact of Inflation on the Theory of Life Contingencies" was printed in the Winter 1991 Forum published by the Casualty Actuarial Society. Ms. LePere has also written a paper titled "Cautions on Comparisons - An Actuarial Viewpoint", published in the March, 1993 issue of Risk Management.

Ms. LePere is a Past President of the Casualty Actuaries of the Southeast (CASE). Ms LePere served as President of CASE during 2000 and as Vice President of Programs for CASE in 1992. CASE is a regional affiliate of the Casualty Actuarial Society.

Ms. LePere joined Casualty Actuarial Consultants, Inc. in November, 1993. She has gained considerable experience in preparing rate analyses and in establishing loss reserves for self-insured groups and individual risks for the workers compensation, medical professional, automobile and general liability, and property lines of coverage. Additional responsibilities include calculating deductible factors, classification rates and loss costs, experience relativity factors, captive feasibility studies, and dividend calculations.
